3 Buck Bite Contest: You could win $100!

When prepping for a visit to L5P's Porter Beer Bar one would typically hoard a handful of George Washingtons to dole out in exchange for a Flensburger Weizen, a Lagunitas Pilsner or a Maudite. The beer selection is plentiful and diverse with affordable choices to quench your thrifty thirst.

On my last visit, I was pleasantly surprised to see an affordable menu to match and inspired to boot. The cup of melon soup ($2.50) peaked my interest and I was happy to note that savory soup doesn't have to be just a wintertime indulgence. This chilled melon version hit the spot amid the steamy city this summer. Treading in a sea of perfectly textured melon soup is an island of goat cheese, melted to a perfect creamy consistency. The tangy, citrusy flavor of the cheese was a perfect complement to the chilled melon.

Think you can top that culinary steal? Comment below on what it is and have a chance to have your food find written about on 3buckbites.com. You will also be entered into a pool to win $100! Contest ends 9/11 at midnight.

As a girl on a budget I've had to venture outside of the finer buckhead restaurants and do some bargain hunting of my own! I have to say that a perfect MEAL for about $4 comes from the fine kitchen of El Azteca on Peachtree St. Although cheap mexican may be a hard sell for the upper-crust in Atlanta you'd be surprised how fufilling a hardshell taco, side of rice and a shared bowl of cheese dip can make you feel! Especially if you're with a date who buys you a delicious marg to go along with it ;)

I would have to say pretty much anything at the Delkalb Farmer's Market dessert counter. Almost everything they have is under $2! The $1.50 slice of oreo cake we got from there was loads better that the $5.50 slice from Southern Sweets across the street. Can't beat that value for the sweet tooth in your family!

Taco's from Willy's, no questions asked. Favorite taco is soft shell, with pinto beans, lettuce, pico, and cheese. Sweet & simple. Sometimes with spicy chicken added.
